So you are trying to start a works council at your workplace? Hear from workers at Contentful, ShareNow, and more about their experiences organising works councils in their offices. Spoiler: some went smoothly and some did not. This session will be part story telling, part sharing tips, and a large section for Q/A. We are mostly sharing experiences from International english-speaking tech offices, but all are welcome even if this does not apply to your workplace! Bring your questions.

This session will only briefly cover what works councils are and what they can do. For more on that topic, check our works councils page on the website and look out for the next Works Council Training for Beginners event on our events page.

Accessibility

The event will be held over Zoom, a video conferencing platform. You can use Zoom with your desktop, laptop, or mobile device.

You need an internet connection and speakers to listen, and a microphone (and optionally camera) to participate. You can also join the conversation via the (written) chat.

There will be a brief presentation with static slides, but most of the event will be audio-based discussion in English.
